This review is from: Modern 2"tube Twin/full Bunk Bed on the upper bunk, the side safety bars get pushed and pulled on by a 9 year old, and it is obvious the manufacturer skimped on the welding, using the least amount possible and the result is they aren't strongly welded together (which this bunk is 90% welds, only a few other screws). I can't afford to buy new bunks all the time, so I used almost a full roll of Scotch tape to join the bars back together, which only speaks about the powerful wonderful engineering of the Scotch Tape, not this cheapo bunk bed. I used to have another metal bunk bed that lasted 20 years that eventually warped out of shape that had the full welds and never broke apart like this one did in one year. I am giving it 2 stars only because of the price compared to other sellers, it is still low quality, but I suspect sometimes even the expensive makers are still ripping people off. By This review is from: Modern 2"tube Twin/full Bunk Bed I just got this bunk bed, and I didn't know bunk beds (this one anyway) says only one person on top at a time, which is fine, but doesn't mention a specific weight limit. The welding done on the bed concerns me a little, the welds only go around half the pieces instead of welding the entire pieces together like our old metal bunk bed, so that looks really cheap. The instructions also say only sleep on the bed, no playing around, which could be impossible to follow if this bed is for 2 kids.
The ladder on mine (which is this exact same model number here) actually has the ladder on the straight side of the bed, not the curved part like the picture shows, but it actually looks nicer that way. This bed was the least expensive I could find, and hopefully it is safe and sturdy enough to last about as long as the other metal bunk bed we had (which was almost 20 years and also inexpensive, we'll see). This bed also squeaks a lot, but so did the other one I had...Read more |
