This bed was great! It does take at least two people to put together. Took about 3 hours to assemble. It is super sturdy and really nice. The desk space is EXCELLENT!! It is bigger than we expected but makes good use of space. We were able to place a regular size twin mattress on it. I do not recommend the 6 inch ones because they can make it uncomfortable. Ny daughter is 10 and has no problems, still very safe and she LOVES it! The shipping was SUPER fast. It was here 5 days sooner than expected. Beware the box is VERY heavy-about 150 pounds. The only complaint I have is that on the corners where the guardrails are attached with screws we had to ply the part upward because it had been turned downward on two of them. Needle nose pliers and some pressure, and we were able to straighten them out but, still it was a mistake that should not have happened. In general, I give this bed 5 stars. Well worth the money!:-)

NOTE THE INSTRUCTIONS>>>Do not use power tools, do not tighten bolts till assembly is complete. There, now that being said, the assembly took about 4.5 hours in very bad light. Package arrived 2 days early, I was not home so it was dropped off at the main office for the complex where I live. You guessed it...a nearly 7 food long 138 lb box. Loaded it on a dolly and hauled it a block and an half then up a very long stair way. (break time) Maneuvered into position and laid out the box. Ends of the box had began to come apart but everything was still intact. All parts were there. Only faulty piece was the safety rail and the replacement is coming. The receiving bolts built into the safety rail pulled out completely when I tightened them, one was set too far back and the bolt would not reach. VERY VERY VERY wobbly during assembly. The packaging on this item was nearly destroyed when we got it. We accepted the package because of the hype we had built for our daughter. I opened the packaging and there were dings and dents in the desk. Our daughter was too excited to care and only wanted the bed immediately (we are teaching her great lessons here in patience obviously). The package is now opened and there are not any instructions. What a pain in my rear as I now have a choice to repackage and return or figure this out. I went online and found instructions for this model, but the instructions were incorrect as the parts were mislabeled. This was a horrible experience and once built this item is junk. Screws do not stay (need some locktite) tight. This thing is junk and I cannot wait to just throw it away. The hassle this thing has created makes me never want to buy a piece of furniture again through this avenue.
