Product Review

The Canwood Alpine II Twin over Full bunk bed is perfect for siblings to share, or for friends to experience at sleepovers. A contemporary bunk bed, built to last with solid New Zealand pine, is a great choice for the modern bedroom. All Canwood beds are designed with security in mind; unique metal-to-metal fastening systems, employed for all connections, together with a sturdy fastened ladder and full length guardrails. You can sleep well knowing you have a Canwood bunk bed. Help your tween's keep organized by adding the bunk bed drawers or expand your bed to sleep three with the help of the slide out trundle bed. Once your tween's are ready for their own rooms, you can easily separate your bunk bed into two modern beds. Complete your bedroom look by adding an assortment of matching modern designed accessories: a night table, chest, dresser, armoire, desk, hutch or bookcase. Canwood Furniture will not be a passing fad, nor is it finished in a color which will quickly be out of fashion. The Canwood look is timeless. It is always in style.

This is a pretty well put together bed. Made of solid wood and sturdy. Quality control seems to have taken a day off though. The stain between the headboard and foot board slats was uneven and there was even an impression of a screw pressed into the top of the foot board. Fortunately, it's not really obvious. My biggest complaint about this bed is the mattress support on the full bed. It's simply strips of plywood strung together with some straps. For the twin bed it's not a problem. The width of the bed makes it work. But the width of the full bed makes it pretty useless. When I get on the bed by myself (and i'm not a big person), the slats bow. When my husband got on it with me to read my daughter a book, they cracked. He jumped off fast enough to keep them from breaking thank goodness. So we will need to buy a solid wood board to replace those plywood strips. Bummer to have to put in that extra effort. If they fixed that, this bed would be pretty great.

What a nightmare!! Our bed was delivered in the timeframe promised. We opened the boxes and the nightmare began. Here's a quick list:
Missing screws
Missing drill holes
Splotchy, uneven paint
Cracked footboard
Wrong headboard/footboard combination

The first 3 problems were aggravating but Home Depot is close by, my hubby has a drill and with careful placement of parts, the uneven paint could be hidden. Hubby even felt he could mend and hide the crack. Biggest problem was that the upper bed was sent with a tall headboard and shorter footboard. I prefer the look in the picture but thought we'd try out the uneven head/footboard. But this put the head board too close to the ceiling causing safety concerns of pinching and/or trapping of body parts. Now the real nightmare begins. All calls funnel through one number which is only occasionally answered. Once a person was reached, I was informed processing takes 2 weeks and shipping 1 to 2 after that. No...Read more
