Our Twin over Twin Mission Bunk Bed is constructed of solid wood making it a perfect and durable choice for kids. After all, kids do love bunk beds, but they're also great space savers for guest rooms, dorm rooms and lofts. At MOM'S safety comes first which is why all of our beds meet or exceed all industry safety standards for bunk beds. All wood is sanded and sealed with a clean smooth coating to prevent splinters. Finish is child-safe and lead free. Ladder rungs are flat, not vertical for your child's safety and easy access to top bunk. Each bunk comes with 13 slats to support a standard twin size mattress (39" x 74"), not to exceed 9" in thickness. The bottom bunk is 11" off the floor and there are 30" between the bottom bunk slats and the top slats. This offer includes: (4) side rails, (2) head boards, (2) foot boards, (1) ladder and (26) slats for support. Mattresses, bedding and other furniture pieces are not included. I ordered this bunk bed for my little girls (2 and 4) because of the wonderful price. I knew we wouldn't be using them for very long, so I didn't want to spend a fortune on bunk beds. Overall, I am pretty satisfied. I read the other review and knew that they were not going to be as "Espresso" as the picture. It is more like a dark honey color. The assembly was pretty easy, and I feel that the construction is pretty sturdy. There were a few knicks in the bed when we took the pieces out of the box, but it wasn't worth sending anything back for. I knew they were smaller in stature, but I forgot that meant short headroom between each bunk. It seems like there's less room than what is pictured. Maybe I just have taller matresses...not sure. My 4-year-old doesn't really have enough room to sit straight up underneath the top bunk. My 2-year-old can, but I'm not sure for how long. It poses a problem when I have to lean in and put her to bed, or when I'm trying to make the bed up...Read more

Bought this bed to match Espresso-colored furniture in my son's room. The bed itself is great, feels sturdy, looks nice, love how it can be used as two standalone twins! However, I'm very disappointed that the color is more of a dark honey than espresso. Assembly wasn't too difficult, though there were some errors in the directions booklet with the pictures and the pieces corresponding. Specifically, the use of the dowels and several screws. Not a big deal, it was obvious where the pieces needed to go but if you were only reading the directions and weren't paying close attention to the pre-drilled holes on the pieces you might miss them. I would rate this bed a 5 but for the issue with the color. In my experience Espresso indicates dark and this is definitely NOT dark! Learned later that the manufacturer does make the same bed in a darker color and it's called "Cappuccino" which to me would indicate a lighter coffee with cream color. Go figure!
