Designed and engineered with safety in mind. Bunk bed has heavy gauge 3? diameter metal tubing, full-length guardrails, and sturdy welded metal slat system for mattress support. Ladders are integrated on each side of bed. Uses a standard twin size mattress and full size futon mattress (sold separately). Only use a twin size mattress that is 74-75" long and 37.5-38.5" wide on the upper bunk. Bunk bed is tested and certified by an independent testing laboratory to meet all minimum requirements of ASTM F1427-04 and U.S. CFR Title 16 Part 1513. Maximum total weight is not to exceed 300 lbs. on the upper bunk.
